How Growth Hormone Can Help You Lose Fat

Humans naturally secrete growth hormone from the Pituitary Gland, and as we age, the function of growth hormone changes. As kids, growth hormone has the function of bone development and also causes the growth of other tissue.

In adults, growth hormone is important for cell regeneration, production, and nutrient shifting. And in that lies the secret of how growth hormone can help you lose a few extra pounds [1] – depending on how you use your GHRH and GHRP Peptides, such as the ones supplied by Evolve HRT.

This short article will look at how the body burns fat for energy, how growth hormones can increase that, and how we can put together a fat loss package for the best results.

How does Growth Hormone cause Fat Loss?

Growth hormone is a protein released by the pituitary gland throughout the day, but scientists have noticed this peak when we sleep. Interestingly enough, growth hormone also leads to the release of two very important compounds from the pancreas.

Glucagon and lipase will both be released from the pancreas in the presence of growth hormone(s). Glucagon will cause the release of glycogen into the blood from the liver, whereas lipase will cleave fat from adipocytes (fat cells) and deposit them into the blood as free fatty acids.

The liver will also release a set amount of IGF-1 during this process, which can help with hair, skin, and bone health [2, 3, 4].

During the process of Glycogen and Free Fatty Acids being dumped into the blood, we can actually stand a chance to burn some fat. But since we’re asleep when growth hormone levels are highest, it won’t really work.

How to use Peptides for Fat Loss?

While peptides can have a host of benefits, we can actually use the pharmacokinetics and timing of dosing of these peptides to elicit some fat loss. How exactly do you do this? Well, first, we need to understand how fat loss works.

  1. Free Fatty Acids (FFA) are cleaved off of Adipocytes via Lipase
  2. FFA are transported by the blood to different parts of the body, particularly the metabolizing tissue (this is the tissue that has mitochondria)
  3. Long-chain-fatty-acid—CoA ligase (Enzyme of the Ligase Family) is the catalyst of the reaction of FFA with ATP, forming AMP, an inorganic pyrophosphate, and a fatty acyl-adenylate
  4. Fatty acyl-adenylate reacts with co-enzyme A to give off a fatty acyl-CoA molecule
  5. The Carnitine shuffle is used for the acyl-CoA to enter the mitochondrion, where beta-oxidation takes the acyl-CoA and splits it into two carbon chains
  6. These carbon chains combine with co-enzyme A to form acetyl CoA
  7. Acetyl CoA condenses with oxaloacetate to form citrate

This process repeats itself, with ATP being used as energy. You might have noticed the whole process begins with free fatty acids, which we know can be harnessed with growth hormone.

CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin

CJC-1295 is known as a Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone, which will trigger the pituitary gland to produce and pulsate more growth hormone. This will result in greater levels of lipolysis, meaning better fat loss.

Ipamorelin is known as a Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of the GHRP you are using. Thus, it would be a very good idea to use the two together.

Another sneaky trick we can use is something borrowed by professional athletes. If we administer the GHRH and GHRP blend prior to doing fasted cardio, we stand a greater chance of losing fat. This is due to the massive abundance of free fatty acids in the blood and will be even more significant if you are dieting as well.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go running on an empty stomach, but it does mean even taking a brisk walk after administering the peptides could help you lose a few extra pounds. There is even some evidence that growth hormone is better at causing fat loss (visceral fat) around the abdomen [5].

That said, you will still need to get your heart rate up, and you should be moving to get the most out of this trick. If you are not really interested in burning more fat or building more muscle, the dosage timing does not really matter as much.

Conclusion

When it comes to fat loss, there is, unfortunately, no secret pill or something you can do easily to cause the loss of fat. It will take a decent amount of effort in the gym and some changes in the kitchen as well.

That said, we should opt to use the tools we have to their greatest, and the fact remains that growth hormones, GHRPs, and GHRHs can help you lose fat – and even more if you use them effectively. This is how peptide clinics can use these Peptides to increase life quality and help you lose fat.

Just like how tea can cause poor absorption of certain vitamins and minerals [6], pharmacokinetics do matter. And when it comes to these peptides, you could benefit slightly by using them before fasted cardio to elicit greater fat loss.

Follow a diet that is rich in quality protein, puts you in a slight deficit, is sustainable, and does some form of activity for the best results. No one wants to be in a fat loss phase for months on end, nor do you want to crash diet. Find something that’ll have you lose 0.5 – 1.0% of total body weight per week, and enjoy the process.

Fat Loss Tip

You may have also heard of Carnitine and how great it is for fat loss. The reason this is true is because of the Carnitine shuffle in the process explained above (I’ll give you a moment to scroll up and look).

Carnitine is the compound that is used to move or shuffle long chain free fatty acids into the mitochondria, where beta-oxidation can actually take place. This means with more Carnitine and more of those free fatty acids in the blood, you could have a nice little protocol to give you the greatest opportunity to burn fat.
